The Environment

At Fan Milk, we are committed to managing the impacts of our operations on the environment, by using materials, systems and processes in a reliable, safe and environmentally sound manner. We undertake to comply with all national statutory and regulatory requirements relating to the environment; to prevent pollution; and to communicate our environmental performance, both internally and externally.

As part of our efforts in this regard, we have donated refuse trucks to City Waste Management Company; and we also have our own waste water treatment plant.

GNASBA Activities

Fan Milk Limited keenly supports good environmental practices. Since 1993, we have partnered with the Ghana National Scholarships Beneficiaries Association (GNASBA), to ensure a clean, safe and healthy environment.

We support GNASBA as the Association targets the country’s youth - especially students and pupils from 1st and 2nd cycle schools all over the country - to help intensify awareness on environmental protection in Ghana. This is done through various means, including tree planting, clean-up campaigns, collection and disposal of plastic waste, malaria awareness programmes, educational rallies, and donations of dustbins. Participants in these exercises are refreshed with our nutritious products.

We derive a lot of satisfaction in seeing the trees we helped plant developing into woodlots which could serve as a source of income for communities, if sold as fuel wood. The teak planted by some of the communities will also serve an economic purpose in the future.

With the support of Fan Milk, GNASBA has taken clean-up campaign to a different level with the launching of the Royal Environmental Day by her Royal Highness Lady Julia Osei Tutu in Kumasi. The idea is to rekindle the self-help spirit in communities, and to encourage them to take care of their environment.

With the schools clean-up campaign and the Royal Environmental Day activities in selected towns and villages, GNASBA is poised to enhance the sustainability of our environment, and Fan Milk Limited is delighted to be part of the success story so far.
